Walking

Sometimes you just need to chill.

Walking is also a pretty good form of exercise. Me and my good lady try to do at least a ten-minute walk after eating, and I’m fairly sure that’s helped with my weight. I wasn’t entirely convinced of the scientific benefits though, so I did what any sensible person would do and asked Dr Google. S/he had this to say:

Yes, walking after eating is very good for you, aiding digestion, controlling blood sugar spikes, improving heart health, supporting weight management, and reducing bloating, with even short walks (2-10 minutes) providing significant metabolic benefits.Gentle movement stimulates the digestive system, while activating muscles helps absorb glucose, preventing sharp insulin spikes linked to diabetes and fatigue.

In yet another of my usally silly ideas I purchased this book just before Xmas.

For those of you who don’t know, trig bagging is the act of visiting all the trig points in your county. Trig points, you know, triangulation pillars, those stone tower things you see on the tops of hills – were installed across Britain between 1936 and 1962 by the Ordnance Survey. They were used to create a precise, nationwide surveying network for accurate map-making, providing stable, elevated platforms for theodolites to measure angles between points and map land, boundaries, and infrastructure.

Anyway, apparently there are 67 to “Bag” in Worcestershire. I will log my progress on this site, well, I will until I get predictably bored of the whole thing

Current “score” none done, 67 to go. 1 one, 66 to go ( 11/3/26)
